Northern Kyushu Heavy Rain Disaster Relief
Message from Aya Murakami, Representative Director:
“In response to the severe flooding that struck Kyushu in July 2017, The Murakami Family Foundation provided emergency assistance based on the immediate needs assessment conducted by Public Interest Incorporated Association Civic Force, who were among the first responders on the ground. Their assessment revealed that evacuation centers were hot and humid, creating difficult conditions for long-term evacuees. In response to their request, we provided support in the form of 3 spot coolers, 3 dehumidifiers, 10 electric fans, 5 Kärcher high-pressure washers (for mud removal), fruit supplies sufficient for 1,000 people (to ensure adequate vitamin and mineral intake), and cooling neck wraps for approximately 400 people
